Wamenhaj Checks the Direct Distribution of Accommodation for Prospective Hajj Pilgrims in Mecca

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak ensures that the service for Indonesian prospective pilgrims in Mecca runs optimally by directly checking the legality of accommodation that has a relatively long distance from the Grand Mosque.

The Minister of Hajj carried out a surprise inspection at the Al-Hidayah Tower Hotel, Sector 10, Aziziyah area, Mecca. During the review, the Minister of Hajj specifically partnered with Amirul Hajj members who have expertise in the field of transportation, namely the toll road entrepreneur Jusuf Hamka (Baba Alun) and Deputy Minister of Transportation (Wamenhub) Komjen (Purn) Suntana.

The involvement of the two is considered important to evaluate the scheme for the movement of prospective pilgrims.

"Sector 10 or Al-Hidayah is one of the main concerns because it is the farthest hotel. It is about 12 kilometers to the Grand Mosque. Therefore, the Ministry of Religion pays special attention, from hotel facilities to the Sholawat bus service, which is the mainstay of prospective pilgrims," said Wamenhaj as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10.

Even though it is in the farthest location, Wamenhaj revealed positive findings related to the satisfaction of prospective pilgrims in the sector.

"Well, it turns out, it is precisely those who have the least complaints today, who have the least complaints, that is, the service at this Al-Hidayah Hotel," said Wamenhaj.

This satisfaction is in line with the completeness of the available facilities. When traveling around, the Deputy Minister of Hajj ensured the availability of a canteen that was representative as a gathering center for prospective pilgrims, complete with the existence of stalls that sell typical Indonesian food.

Wamenhaj also checked the self-service laundry area. He ensured that the number of washing machines provided was sufficient so that prospective pilgrims did not have to queue long. Wamenhaj also instructed officers in Sector 10 to check the legality of the facilities periodically and immediately repair if a broken machine is found.

Apart from accommodation facilities, the readiness of medical services is also in the spotlight. When reviewing the health clinic in Tower 4, the Minister of Hajj instructed the health team not to just wait, but to proactively 'pick up the ball' to the rooms of prospective pilgrims who are sick, especially as a step of anticipation ahead of the peak phase of the Hajj in Armuzna.

On this occasion, the Minister of Hajj also held a dialogue with prospective independent pilgrims, namely those who departed without being included in the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU).

The Minister of Religion ensured that the state was present for all prospective pilgrims without distinguishing the status of their guidance group.

"These prospective independent Hajj pilgrims receive the same facilities as prospective Hajj pilgrims who are members of KBIHU. Hajj officials do not discriminate, everyone is treated the same," said Wamenhaj.
