The Palace Explains the Reason for the President's Financial Speech in the DPR

JAKARTA - Secretary of State Minister Prasetyo Hadi explained that President Prabowo Subianto directly conveyed the Macro Economic Framework and the Fiscal Policy Elements of the 2027 Budget in the DPR Plenary Meeting, Wednesday (20/5), to align views and unite forces.

President Prabowo is scheduled to attend the V Session of the Indonesian House of Representatives in 2025-2026 at the MPR Complex, House of Representatives, DPD in Jakarta, Wednesday morning, with the main agenda discussing the 2027 State Budget.

"Insyaallah (Mr. President, ed.) is present. It happens (Wednesday, ed.) on the 20th, (coinciding with) National Awakening Day. So, the President wants to take advantage of the momentum to once again unite our views and strengths as one nation, especially in carrying out the task of maintaining the economy of our nation," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 19.

The plenary session is scheduled to take place at 09.00 WIB, Wednesday, May 20.

There are three main agendas that will be discussed in the meeting, namely the presentation of the Macro Economic Framework and Fiscal Policy Elements (KEM-PPKF) of the 2027 Budget by the government; the report of the DPRRI Legislative Agency on the evaluation of the second change of the Priority RUU Prolegnas of 2026, followed by decision-making; and the opinions of the factions on the RUU initiative of Commission III of the DPR RI on changes to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia, followed by decision-making into the DPR proposed bill.

In the plenary session, President Prabowo is scheduled to give a speech to deliver directly the Macro Economic Framework and the Fiscal Policy Elements of the 2027 Budget. The speech session is scheduled to take place around 10.00 WIB.

On a separate occasion, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto would be the first Indonesian President to speak about the Macro Economic Framework and Fiscal Policy Elements (KEM-PPKF) in the DPR RI Plenary Meeting.

"I just checked, maybe this is the first time," Dasco said when answering a reporter's question at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday.

He said in principle, ministers who had previously given speeches at meetings representing the President. Therefore, the President can also deliver the KEM-PPKF directly.

"That's okay. It's a prelude to the preparation of the 2027 State Budget," said Dasco.
