JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan returned to the Office of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), Tuesday, June 8.

Novel submitted additional evidence and information regarding alleged human rights violations in the national insight test (TWK) process. Novel arrived with four other KPK employees and was accepted by Komnas HAM member Mohammad Choirul Anam.

During the meeting, apart from submitting additional evidence, five KPK employees consulted with the Komnas HAM commissioner regarding the complaint regarding TWK.

“I conveyed to Komnas HAM about the role of the Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), which, in our opinion, seems to have quite a lot of roles together with the Chair of the KPK. This needs to be a separate focus," Novel said at a press conference reported by Antara.

According to Novel, BKN is the party invited by the KPK to work together in the process of transitioning KPK employees to become state civil servants (ASN).

Novel said that he and other KPK employees who did not pass the TWK had difficulty getting test results and explanations. The group believes that the TWK process was carried out in inappropriate ways.

Therefore, he said, they asked the organizers to disclose the test results because the failure to pass had an impact on the stigma/labeling of their personality.

“This stigma is a serious problem. When we asked for something as important as that (the results of the TWK, ed) for our sake, but it was not given, it was strange," said Novel asserted.

On the same occasion, the Head of the KPK Investigating Task Force (Kasatgas) Harun Al Rasyid said that he and dozens of KPK employees who did not pass the TWK were interested in knowing the results and explanations of the TWK.

He analogized the results of the TWK as a medical record that shows a person's disease history.

"Why do we ask for the results of the assessment (TWK), because if we are considered sick people, for example we have heart disease, we want the disease to be cured," said Harun.

Regarding the report and additional information, Komnas HAM member Mohammad Choirul Anam said that all data provided by Novel and four KPK employees had been received by Komnas HAM.

"We are not tired of getting various information," he said at the same press conference.

Regarding the difficulty of KPK employees in obtaining TWK results, Anam is of the opinion that in the context of human rights it is important to disclose this information to each test taker.

“In the context of human rights, it is very important. This can actually be directly executed (by the organizers of TWK, ed). We hope that this will be responded to immediately because this is a serious concern for Komnas HAM," said Anam.

He explained that if the test was indeed carried out transparently and carried out the order of the law, then the TWK organizer must consistently provide test results to each participant who requested it. TWK organizers, including the KPK and BKN, could not be contacted for a response.
