Cluster Of COVID-19 Bekasi Wedding Reception Adds 9 People

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force, West Java announced that the cluster of the spread of COVID-19 originating from a wedding reception at the Villa Mutiara Gading Housing, Tarumajaya District, increased by nine people. A total of 33 people have now been confirmed positive.

Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force member AKP Edy Suprayitno said the addition of people who were confirmed positive for the corona virus was known after his party carried out an antigen swab test followed by a PCR test at the housing.

"Today, a total of 120 residents of this housing have undergone examinations and the results have increased to nine people who have tested positive for COVID-19," he said in Cikarang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 8.

The Tarumajaya Police Chief said that the residents who were confirmed positive today had been taken to a centralized isolation area at the Ibis Cikarang Hotel using two ambulances.

"We took all of them to the Ibis Cikarang Hotel, only one was taken to the Ananda Babelan Hospital," he said.

At the central isolation location of the Ibis Cikarang Hotel, he said, the residents who were positive for the corona virus would undergo isolation and further examination.

Edy revealed that the increase in the number of residents exposed to the corona virus in this marriage cluster was contributed by two families. One of the families is a relative of the resident who held the reception.

"While the other family is located close to the residents who held the wedding reception," he said.

His party will continue to trace residents' contacts with positive corona patients. In addition, the micro-quarantine policy will continue for the next few days.

"It is also planned that the residential area will be sprayed with disinfectant liquid. The Task Force Team will also closely monitor residents' activities, limit residents' activities, and temporarily eliminate morning market activities near this residential area," he said.
