PPDB Troubled, PSI Blames TGUPP Anies: Don't Be Team Governor For Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - Member of the PSI faction of the DKI DPRD, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, criticized the performance of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) of DKI due to the polemic of new student admissions (PPDB).

Since it was opened yesterday, online PPDB registration has received complaints. Many residents are unable to create PPDB accounts due to system errors.

Anggara accused Anies of being too involved in the preparations for the presidential election in 2024. This is because the TGUPP tasked with accelerating the DKI program does not seem to play a role in infrastructure readiness.

"Don't think about the presidential candidate market first, think about the fate of Jakarta's children. Deploy the high-paid TGUPP to solve the PPDB problem, don't let TGUPP change its meaning to 'Governor Team for Presidential Candidacy'," Anggara told reporters, Tuesday, June 8.

In his defense, the DKI Provincial Government called the system an error because many users were accessing the PPDB page at the same time. However, Anggara said it could not be blamed.

“If the infrastructure and systems are not ready, these criteria should not be included, don't just make rules. Now prospective students are victims, their futures are at stake and they must continue to be in front of the computer waiting for the PPDB system to recover," he added.

According to Anggara, the DKI Provincial Government is not serious in implementing the 2021 PPDB registration, even though DKI Jakarta should be an example for other cities in implementing the 2021 PPDB.

“Jakarta has the largest APBD in Indonesia and has a large IT budget, it's a shame if it is still experiencing technical problems like this. Last year there was also an evaluation of the readiness of the system, but it was still problematic," he said.

For this reason, Anggara asked Anies to immediately intervene and resolve the problem. “It is not enough just to extend the registration period. The name DKI Jakarta is in the national spotlight in the implementation of the 2021 PPDB," he added.
