Sudewo is questioned by the KPK about the receipt of DJKA project fees when he was a member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate the alleged receipt of fees for railway construction projects at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) which was carried out by Sudewo as a Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the investigation was carried out by examining Sudewo at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Wednesday, April 29. The inactive regent of Pati was suspected of receiving fees after conditioning with private parties who worked on the DJKA project.

"Investigators are investigating the role and alleged involvement of SDW in conditioning procurement at DJKA, including SDW being investigated in relation to the alleged receipt of project fees from private parties," Budi told reporters at his office, quoted on Thursday, April 30.

Budi said Sudewo was also asked about a number of information obtained from the examination of witnesses in this case. "Because in the region, the investigators also previously conducted a marathon examination of both parties at DJKA and private parties, yes, deepening related to the procurement process of goods and services in the DJKA scope," he said.

The anti-corruption commission investigators have examined a number of parties to investigate Sudewo's role in the DJKA case. Among them is Mohamad Risal Wasal as the Director General of Transportation and Multimodal Integration of the Ministry of Transportation who was questioned on Thursday, April 23.

In addition, similar investigations were also carried out by investigators from Ari Hendratno as the Commitment Maker Officer (PPK) for Railway Maintenance at the Ngrombo Railway Maintenance Center.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to develop the bribery case for the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java. Most recently, Sudewo as a former Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2020-2024 was named a suspect.

Then, the anti-corruption commission also promised to investigate members of Commission V of the DPR RI for the period 2019-2024 who enjoyed the flow of money. One of them is Lasarus as the then Chairman of Commission V of the DPR RI and was said in the trial to enjoy a project fee of 10 percent.

He is suspected of receiving money flows with members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.
