Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan - The Banjarmasin Embarkation, South Kalimantan, sent off the prospective pilgrims (JCH) Kloter 02 from Banjar Regency on Saturday night.

The Head of the Banjarmasin Embarkation Hajj Organizing Team (PPIH) Dr. H. Eddy Khairani at the Hajj Dormitory in Banjarbaru City said that Kloter 02 was flown from Syamsuddin Noor Airport to Madinah, Saudi Arabia at around 20.05 WITA.

"Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly, from the boarding house to boarding the Garuda Indonesia plane," he said.

The candidate for Hajj Kloter 2, said Eddy, numbered 360 people, with a breakdown of 168 men and 192 women.

"There are 56 elderly or over 65-year-old candidates for this Kloter 2," he said.

According to Eddy, elderly pilgrims receive special attention from officers from the Hajj dormitory to departure.

"Some elderly pilgrims have to use wheelchairs," he said.

Kloter 2 is included in the first wave of national haj departures directly to Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

He reminded the pilgrims before being sent that the hajj was not only a physical journey, but also a spiritual journey that required mental readiness, patience, and high discipline.

"Our congregation will undergo a series of worship for about 40 days, both in Madinah and in Mecca. Therefore, it is important for all pilgrims to maintain their health, regulate their rest patterns, and follow the instructions of the cluster officers," he said.

For the Banjarmasin Embarkation, South Kalimantan in 2026 will send 19 groups of pilgrims, namely 14 groups from South Kalimantan and five groups from North Kalimantan. A total of 6,822 prospective pilgrims.
