JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung decided not to dismiss the Kalisari Village Head even though he stumbled upon a case of follow-up complaints from residents through the JAKI application which uses artificial intelligence (AI) based photos.
Pramono chose to impose sanctions on the inactivation of the village head's position as a step of guidance. This decision was taken after the DKI Provincial Government investigated the violations that were considered to tarnish the face of bureaucracy at the village level.
"Being dismissed means that from the position he is currently holding. It happens that in Kalisari, Bu Lurah is the one who holds it, we free him from his position as Lurah to be trained," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 15.
Pramono emphasized that the sanctions did not necessarily end the career of the state civil servant (ASN) concerned. He opened the opportunity for improvement after going through the coaching process.
"I also don't want to eliminate someone's career. After being trained to be better, we give the opportunity to be able to work better," said Pramono.
In addition to the head of the village, sanctions were also imposed on the ranks below him. The Head of the Government Section and the Head of the Economic and Development Section of the Kalisari Village will be subject to disciplinary action accompanied by coaching.
Meanwhile, the three PPSU officers involved were given a Warning Letter 1 (SP1). Pramono even admitted that he had met with the three of them in person to give them a stern warning.
"I convey that this is the last opportunity for them if they still want to work in DKI Jakarta. If it is repeated again, we will definitely take more decisive action," said Pramono.
The case in Kalisari Village is a serious concern because it is considered to damage public confidence in government services, especially in responding to citizen complaints.
Pramono hopes that this sanction will be a warning for all levels of local government to be more careful and professional in carrying out their duties, especially in responding to digital-based community reports.
"Hopefully this will be a trigger for enthusiasm for PPSU and government officials in DKI Jakarta to improve themselves," he said.
In total, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government took firm steps regarding alleged irregularities in handling public complaints through the JAKI application in Kalisari Village, East Jakarta. One of them is by recommending the inactivation of the local lurah.
This step was taken following the findings of inconsistencies in a number of reports on handling citizen complaints. Where, it was revealed that one of the follow-up complaints from residents regarding illegal parking in Kalisari Village was responded to using photos edited by artificial intelligence (AI).
DKI Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma said the inspection was carried out systematically to uncover facts on the ground and determine corrective steps.
"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Inspectorate has completed the examination of alleged irregularities in handling public complaints in Kalisari Village. The results of this examination are the basis for corrective steps and strengthening of supervision, so that handling public complaints runs more orderly, accountable, and in accordance with regulations," said Dhany in his statement, Tuesday, April 7.
