Overall, 64 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the situation with Iran, up two points from the previous survey.
As many as 61 percent gave a negative assessment of Trump's performance.
The survey was conducted April 8-10 among 2,387 adults in the US, with a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.
The conflict has been heating up since February 28 when the US and Israel launched attacks on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused civilian casualties.
Iran then retaliated by attacking Israeli territory as well as US military bases in the Middle East.
