Weather 13 April, Most Major Cities in Indonesia Light Rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in most major cities in Indonesia will be light rain on Monday, April 13.

BMKG Praktirawan Henokhvita quoted Antara Monday morning said that on Sumatra Island, Banda Aceh and Bengkulu Cities were predicted to be thick clouds, while Palembang had the potential for hazy air.

Meanwhile, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Tanjung Pinang, and Pangkal Pinang are predicted to have light rain.

"Be aware of rain that may be accompanied by lightning in the Bandar Lampung area," he said.

Turning to Java, he continued, the weather in Surabaya City is predicted to be hazy. Meanwhile, Jakarta, Serang, Semarang, and Yogyakarta will be showered with light rain.

"Be aware of the lightning that can occur in Bandung City," he said.

Then for the Kalimantan region, continued Henokhvita, Pontianak City, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, and Banjarmasin, it is estimated that it will rain with light intensity, while the Tanjung Selor area will be rained with moderate intensity.

Moving to the Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, he said, the weather was predicted to be cloudy in Denpasar and Mataram, while Kupang City was sunny.

Then for Sulawesi Island, Kendari City is predicted to be thick clouds, while Palu, Gorontalo, Manado, and Makassar will be showered with light rain. Mamuju City has the potential to rain with moderate intensity.

For the Maluku and North Maluku regions, he continued, the city of Ambon is predicted to be thick clouds, while Ternate will be showered with moderate intensity rain.

Meanwhile, for the Papua region, Nabire City is expected to be smoky or foggy, Jayapura cloudy, while Merauke has hazy air.

"Manokwari, Jayawijaya, and Sorong cities are expected to be hit by light intensity rain," said Henokhvita.

BMKG also reminded of the potential for heavy to very heavy rain in the Bangka Belitung Islands, West Java, North Maluku, and Papua.
