US Hit Sharif University with Bunker Bomb, Iran's 1st Vice President: Symbol of Trump's Madness

JAKARTA - The 1st Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref, accused the US of using bunker-busting bombs in a massive attack targeting Sharif University in Tehran this morning local time.

"The bunker buster bomb attack on Sharif University is a symbol of Trump's madness and ignorance," Aref said in a post on X, Monday, April 6, quoted from Al Jazeera.

Sharif University is one of Iran's leading science universities, often compared to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, for its role in advancing scientific studies in Iran.

Several professors active at the university have been killed in US-Israeli attacks during the 38-day war.

Aref, who is also an engineer from Stanford University, believes that targeting a country's educational facilities in a war will not destroy the vision of the Iranian people who uphold education and actively develop science independent of superpowers.

"He [Trump] failed to understand that Iran's knowledge is not embedded in concrete to be destroyed by bombs; the real fortress is the will of our professors and elites," Aref said.

"No tyranny in history has ever been able to rob the Iranian people of knowledge. Knowledge is rooted in our souls, and this fortress will not collapse," he continued.

The US has not commented on its joint attack with Israel on Monday morning local time using bunker-busting bombs as in Isfahan in late March 2026.
