JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has disciplined the horror film advertisement by removing banners and videos at three locations after the media promotion was deemed too scary and not child-friendly by residents, Sunday.

The Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Yustinus Prastowo, said that his party disciplined the advertisement through the Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Diskominfotik), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Police (Satpol PP).

The three points that have been taken action by the officers are Jalan Puri Kembangan, West Jakarta; Jalan Daan Mogot Km 11 (Hanging Bridge), West Jakarta and Perempatan Harmony Police Post, Central Jakarta.

"In total, there are three locations that we have organized, namely two banner-shaped locations and one videotron location," said Yustinus in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

He said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government was still opening complaint channels and ensuring that every public report was followed up.

"We are also continuing to coordinate to monitor the development of handling at other points," he said.

According to him, public spaces should be a safe, comfortable, and inclusive place for all, including children.

Therefore, every communication material in the public space needs to pay attention to the aspects of decency and psychological impact on the wider community.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will take firm action if similar advertisements are still found," he concluded.
