Indonesia and Japan Sign USD22.6 Billion Cooperation, Foreign Minister Sugiono: Japan is a Strategic Partner

Tokyo, Japan - The government encourages Japanese investment to enter more into Indoesia with the presence of President Prabowo Subianto in Tokyo, Japan on Monday, March 30.

Before the business session, President Prabowo Subianto met with Emperor Naruito to discuss the economy and other global issues.

According to Sugiono, it was recorded that economic cooperation worth US$22.6 billion would be implemented soon. The meeting between the President and the Emperor lasted about 20 minutes in private, then continued with a lunch at the palace.

According to Sugiono, the talks highlighted the Indonesian-Japanese relationship which has been closely intertwined.

In front of business actors, the President also emphasized the direction of Indonesia's economic policy. The government, said Sugiono, is streamlining regulations to make the investment climate more conducive.

Not only that, Indonesia is also accelerating the transition to renewable energy. The plan is that on Tuesday, March 31, President Prabowo is scheduled to meet with the Japanese Prime Minister to discuss broader issues, including intergovernmental cooperation and the global situation.
