JAKARTA - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasized that he would not hesitate to dismiss state civil servants (ASN) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (P3K) in the Social Ministry who were proven to be negligent of their duties and violated discipline.

This was emphasized by Saifullah when leading the appeal for the discipline of employees in Jakarta, Thursday, March 26.

Saifullah revealed that as many as 2,708 Ministry of Social Affairs employees throughout Indonesia were observed not to go to work without explanation on the first day after the Idulfitri 1447 Hijriah holiday, Wednesday, March 25.

Of this number, 156 employees are on duty at the Social Ministry's headquarters, offices, and service centers, and as many as 2,500 other employees have been recorded as having committed disciplinary violations, including those in the Hope Family Program (PKH) Assistants.

"My pity, a number of PKH companions who are not disciplined have just been inaugurated and have not served as government employees for a year," said Saifullah as quoted by Antara.

Saifullah reminded that last year, he had given a stern warning to 500 PKH companions, of which 49 of them ended in dismissal. Entering 2026, a firm action in the form of dismissal has also been imposed on three P3K PKH companions due to similar problems.

"In the future, we will not hesitate to dismiss P3K or civil servants who have problems and are undisciplined. This is not a small and trivial number, this action hurts the institution," he said, responding to the large number of employees who were absent on the first day of work while many public service tasks had to be completed, such as social assistance programs and social rehabilitation for victims of natural disasters.

According to him, the absence without explanation is a form of violation of ASN discipline which harms the obligation to show integrity and exemplary behavior. This is as regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2021 concerning the Discipline of Civil Servants.

"For the mild category, the penalty can be in the form of verbal reprimand, written reprimand, or a written statement of dissatisfaction from the leadership," he said.

In addition to administrative sanctions, employees who violate it are also threatened with financial sanctions in the form of a reduction in performance allowances (tukin).

According to the Minister of Social Regulation Number 6 of 2023, employees who do not record their attendance when entering and returning to work will be subject to a deduction of 3 percent per day.

"Don't waste the opportunity to serve the country, remember there are still many people queuing to become ASN or P3K. Again, remember we are all supervised by both state and public institutions of course," he said.
