SUMEDANG - A female traveler died after previously fainting in the Cisumdawu Toll Gate area, specifically in the Karapyak area, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency, West Java, Sunday, March 22 afternoon. The victim is suspected of being exhausted during the homecoming trip with his family.

The incident occurred when the Lodaya Ketupat Operation officers were conducting patrols and traffic arrangements around the location. The officers immediately provided first aid and contacted the medical team.

The victim was given oxygen, but his condition did not show improvement. Furthermore, the victim was evacuated using an ambulance to Umar Wirahadikusumah Sumedang Hospital to receive further treatment.

Member of the Sumedang Police Satlantas, Aipda Wahyu Setiawan, said officers immediately took action when they saw the victim fall.

"When we were patrolling, we saw a mother fainted near the Cisumdawu Toll Gate. We immediately provided assistance and called an ambulance to be taken to the hospital," he said.

Despite having received medical treatment, the victim was declared dead at the hospital. Officers also provided escort to speed up the evacuation process.

It is suspected that the victim was exhausted due to a long homecoming trip using a car.

Officers urge travelers to maintain physical condition during the trip, rest periodically, and not force themselves to avoid similar incidents.
