JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of risking the lives of his citizens by allowing a British military base to be used for an attack on Iran.
Through a post on the X social media, Araghchi said that most British people do not want to be involved in the conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran.
"Most British people do not want to be involved in the Israel-US war of choice against Iran. By ignoring his own people, Starmer is endangering the lives of British citizens by allowing British bases to be used for aggression against Iran. Iran will use its right to defend itself," he wrote, quoted from Sputnik, Saturday, March 21.
The statement came after the British government approved the use of its military base by the United States to launch an attack on an Iranian missile site.
Previously, on February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran. The attack reportedly caused damage, civilian casualties, and killed Ali Khamenei.
Iran then responded by launching attacks on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East region, further escalating the conflict.
