ACEH TAMIANG - The Chairman of the Indonesian DPD, Sultan B Najamudin, assessed the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, while performing the Eid al-Fitr prayer on 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah with flood victims in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, as a form of empathy as well as the presence of the state in difficult times.

"The President ensures that the country through the government he leads is committed to bringing hope, sharing happiness, and sharing the sadness of the people who are victims of floods on Eid al-Fitr," said the Sultan in Jakarta, Saturday, March 21.

He appreciated Prabowo's steps which were considered to show direct concern for disaster-affected people. According to him, the flash floods that hit the Sumatran region in December had caused many casualties and deep grief for the people.

"I think this is a rare event and the first time in the history of national leadership that an Indonesian President is willing to attend the Eid al-Fitr prayer with disaster victims in the area," he said.

The Sultan also expressed his gratitude for the government's commitment to recovering affected areas, including through reconstruction efforts for infrastructure and additional budget support for local governments.

"We see that the reconstruction of infrastructure continues to be pursued by the central government. Likewise, with additional budget support to the affected local governments," he said.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto carried out the Eid al-Fitr prayer with residents at the Darussalam Mosque in Aceh Tamiang. Based on the live broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo arrived at the location at around 07.20 WIB wearing a white koko shirt, black pants, and a black turban.
