Before Midnight, Traffic Vehicles on the Cikampek Toll Road are Getting More Dense

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga recorded the flow of vehicles crossing the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT), Purwakarta, West Java, on H-4 Lebaran 2026, has increased drastically compared to normal days.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol Ria Marlinda Paalo said that during the sif time of 1 on Tuesday, the number of vehicles increased by 201 percent. This figure, he said, is quite high.

"If you look at the shift 1 alone, we have recorded up to 25 thousand vehicles passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate towards the east," said Ria as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 17.

He said the number of vehicles crossing the toll gate towards Central Java would continue to increase sharply, especially since there was a traffic engineering policy or one way for a while, which added vehicle capacity.

"So this one-way stage 1 has made the traffic volume increase a lot," he said.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, the number of vehicles passing within one hour amounted to around 5,700 vehicles. Usually, he said, the number of vehicles passing is only around 3,000 vehicles.

Previously, the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, stated that as many as 40 percent of travelers from the Jakarta agglomeration area, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jadetabek) had left the area to travel home to their hometowns.

The Police Chief also predicted that the peak of the 1447 Hijri Eid homecoming flow for the second wave this week would occur tonight until tomorrow Wednesday (18/3).

"Since the Ketupat Jaya 2026 operation, the homecoming flow is still tends to be smooth, even though there is an increase. 40 percent of Jadetabek residents have returned home, the peak will be tonight and tomorrow, it will continue to increase," said Police Chief of Aerp Edi Suheri in Cikarang, Tuesday.
