JAKARTA - Bank Jakarta has distributed compensation to 8,500 orphans and two-fa people in the DKI Jakarta area during Ramadan 1447 H/2026 M. The total assistance distributed reached Rp. 1.7 billion.

The handover of compensation was carried out during a joint fasting event with the management of Bank Jakarta at the company's headquarters on Thursday (12/3). Hundreds of orphans from a number of orphanages and foundations in Jakarta were also present at the event.

The compensation was symbolically handed over by the Bank Jakarta board of directors to representatives of orphans from the foundation that manages orphanages in five areas of the DKI Jakarta Administrative City.

Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo explained that the compensation funds came from zakat and infak from Bank Jakarta employees which were managed through the Company's Zakat Management Unit (UPZ).

"Through this activity, Bank Jakarta hopes to share happiness while providing support to children in need, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan," said Agus.

He said that social activities are also part of Bank Jakarta's commitment as a Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to contribute to the community.

According to Agus, Ramadan is an opportunity for companies to strengthen social concerns as well as strengthen relationships with the surrounding community.

Bank Jakarta Compliance Director Ateng Rivai said this compensation was also a form of gratitude for the company ahead of Bank Jakarta's 65th anniversary in April 2026.

"For us, this compensation is a form of gratitude for the long journey we have taken to continue to be a better bank in serving the community," said Ateng.

Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary Arie Rinaldi added that the compensation program for orphans and twofa is an annual agenda that is routinely held every Ramadan.

"With this activity of giving compensation to orphans and twofa, Bank Jakarta can get closer to the community," he said.

Apart from the compensation activities, Bank Jakarta also prepares services for people who travel home for Eid this year.

The company established the Bank Jakarta Mudik Post at the KM 429 Semarang Rest Area on March 14-20, 2026.

The post is provided as a place of rest for travelers who cross the main route to a number of areas on the island of Java. Travelers can rest and take advantage of various facilities provided.

A number of facilities available include rest areas, massage chairs, free Wi-Fi access, and mobile phone charging facilities.

Bank Jakarta also prepared a number of programs for the public who stopped by the post, including giving souvenirs to customers who opened new accounts and a cashback program for QRIS transactions through the JakOne Mobile application.
