Gas Pipe Of PT Pindo Deli Pulp And Paper Mills 2 Leaks, Hundreds Of Residents Are Poisoned

JAKARTA - Hundreds of residents of Kutamekar Village, Ciampel District, Karawang Regency, West Java, were poisoned due to a leaking gas pipe belonging to PT Pindo Deli Pulp And Paper Mills 2.

"It feels suffocating, a pungent smell reaches the throat. It feels really dry," said Pendi (38), a local resident who was a victim of poisoning, reported by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

The information gathered in the field stated that there were hundreds of residents who were poisoned by gas and had to be taken to the nearest hospital, health center and clinic.

According to Pendi, the initial incident of the coustic soda gas leak occurred on Thursday afternoon.

It is said that pipe leaks often occur. However, today's gas pipeline leak is quite serious.

As a result of the incident, many residents of Kutamekar Village, Ciampel District, Karawang complained of shortness of breath, dizziness and nausea.

A number of ambulances paced to evacuate poisoned victims. Some victims were taken to the nearest hospital, clinic and health center for treatment.

Until now, officers are still collecting data on victims of the Pindo Deli gas pipe poisoning.
