Hendro explained that the chronology of the incident began when the victim visited the perpetrator at his new wife's house, Jalan Tlogo Agung, Tlogomas Village, Malang City, Wednesday, June 2.

While at the suspect's new wife's house, SH and TY got into an argument over child custody. Based on the information obtained by the police, the victim said harsh words that offended the suspect. Out of offense, Hendro continued, the suspect then took a knife in the kitchen, then attacked the victim. The victim suffered a stab wound to the left side of the body, while the suspect fled. "The knife handle was broken but the tip of the knife was still stuck in the victim's body. At that time there was a witness who was with the victim with the initials N, who then shouted," said Hendro. Police from the Lowokwaru Police Station, Malang City, who were on patrol immediately went to the crime scene (TKP). The police chased the perpetrator. "Officers arrested SH in Merjosari, then we took him to the Malang Police for further processing," said Hendro.

Hendro added that the victim who was undergoing treatment at the hospital was finally saved even though the knife was stuck in the victim's body. Currently, the victim's condition has improved.

The suspect SH had previously been involved in cases of domestic violence (KDRT). The incident happened in 2020 and ended peacefully.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Malang City Police. SH was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code and Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years
