After a Day of Rain, Many Elderly in Kembangan Trapped in Flood in Their Homes

JAKARTA - The rain that hit Jakarta caused a number of areas to flood. As happened in the Kembangan area, specifically in RT 01, RW 05 and RT 07 RW 01. The residents' settlement was affected by flooding with a fairly high water intensity.

The Mayor of West Jakarta, Iin Mutmainnah, explained that many people were affected by the flood. Evacuation was also carried out by following the affected locations to the deepest area near JNE Kembangan Selatan.

When traveling through the area, the team found residents who came out of their houses asking for help because there was an elderly person who needed to be evacuated.

"We immediately evacuated the residents, there were mothers, children, and their husbands, three people who we took to a safe place," said Iin.

To handle the health needs of residents, the team has worked with Pustu (Integrated Posyandu) to conduct a pick-up ball examination.

In RT 7, several residents with flu or fever conditions have been examined, and the next step will be to check the health condition of residents who have been evacuated at the evacuation location at night.

For complaints or requests for health assistance, continued Iin, residents can use the Jaki application or contact the emergency number 112 for BPBD services and emergency handling. In addition, communication can also be carried out through Pak RT, Pak RW, to the level of sub-district, district, and city.

The government will ensure that affected residents, both those who are still living at home and those who have been displaced, receive adequate logistics, in cooperation with the Social Sub-Directorate, PMI, BAZNAS, and support from the CSR program. Other needs such as mattresses and treatment will also be met according to community needs.
