PN Denpasar Charges 2 Perpetrators of Police Post Vandalism

DENPASAR - The Denpasar District Court has tried two perpetrators of alleged vandalism against police posts located in Kuta and Denpasar.

In the first trial at the Denpasar District Court, the two defendants, Kana Satipa and Riza Firmansyah, were charged with the first charge of Article 262 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, the second charge of Article 521 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, and the third charge of Article 522 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Denpasar District Attorney's Office, Haris Dianto Saragih, in his indictment revealed the act of vandalism against the police post located at the Traffic Light (TL) of Sunset Road, Kuta and Simpang Enam, Teuku Umar Street, Denpasar.

Initially, the defendant and his companion were on their way from Gimmie Seltter to Kuta Beach, then when crossing Sunset Road, the defendant saw the Police Post at Simpang Tl on Friday, November 14, 2025 at around 22.00 WITA.

Before that, they had already planned to make graffiti on the walls around Jalan Kerobokan, so they prepared black wood paint which was put into an aqua bottle.

Coincidentally, the situation in the Sunset Road area was quiet and there were no motor vehicles passing around, so there was an intention to commit vandalism at the Police Post there.

"At that time, Kana did it alone by piercing an aqua bottle containing black wood paint using a vario motorcycle lock," said the prosecutor as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 5.

After that, he sprayed paint on the back wall of the post with the writing 1312 which means ACAB (All Cops All Bastard) in Indonesian which means "All Cops All B*ngsat".

Next, they continued their journey to Kuta Beach. Lali, on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at around 03.00 Wita, Kana and Riza went around the area of Jalan Imam Bonjol and Jalan Pulau Kawe.

On the way, Kana invited Riza to carry out the action again and suddenly he stopped the motorcycle next to the Simpang Enam Police Post on Jalan Teuku Umar.

They also together did graffiti with the prepared paint. The writing is similar to "1312" which means ACAB.

In fact, after that Riza threw a stone at the post which caused the glass to break.

He also took several photos of his actions and plans to post them on social media. The two's actions resulted in material losses of IDR 10 million.

As a result, they were arrested and eventually tried.

To the panel of judges, the two defendants who were examined admitted that they were disappointed with the police, following the incident of a taxi that was hit and killed during a demonstration in Jakarta. Until, various events mainly involved individuals who served in the traffic unit that tarnished the image of the security institution.

"We are disappointed with the police, especially those who are in charge of traffic," the defendants said.
