During the meeting, Sugiono and Boroujerdi discussed the escalation of the situation in the Middle East due to the attacks of the United States and Israel on Iran which triggered Tehran's retaliatory attacks on a number of points in the Persian Gulf.
On that occasion, Sugiono emphasized the importance of respecting international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN). He also urged the strengthening of diplomatic channels to ease the escalating tensions.
