5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Northwest Melonguane-North Sulawesi

JAKARTA - It is estimated that 97 kilometers northwest of Melonguane, Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, it was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 at 09:31:37 WIB.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 51 kilometers, Thursday, June 3.

"The earthquake was felt in Tahuna, Sangihe Islands Regency and has no potential for a tsunami," said Operations Staff of the Winangun Geophysics Station, Manado City, Veby, as reported by Antara.

He said information and developments on the earthquake would be relayed back. "Until now we have not received any information about the damage caused by the earthquake," he said.
