Garut - The Garut Regional Police (Polres) moved quickly to prevent a glove war between groups of people in Kersamanah District, Garut Regency, West Java.

"We continue to increase patrols, and a quick response to every report from the community, especially during vulnerable hours to maintain kamtibmas including preventing sarung war," said the Head of the Cibatu Police, covering the Kersamanah legal area, AKP Amirudin Latif in Garut, Friday, quoted by Antara.

He said, his ranks during Ramadan increased patrols and were ready to respond quickly to public reports at times of potential disruption of public security and order (kamtibmas).

Like the community report on Friday, February 27 in the early hours, he said, there was a group of people who were reported to be going to fight for sarung in Ciboja Village, Nanjungjaya Village, Kersamanah District, Garut Regency, who were successfully prevented.

"It is known that the sarung war action has not yet occurred because it has been preceded by the local residents," he said.

He said that a number of police personnel who came to the crime scene (TKP) checked and documented the community who were suspected of carrying out a sarung war action.

Even though it was successfully prevented, he said, his party still took steps to anticipate that there would be no similar incidents involving community leaders, then reminded the youth not to carry out activities that disrupt kamtibmas.

"We appreciate the active role of the community who immediately reported potential disturbances of kamtibmas through the 110 service. This synergy is very important to keep the situation safe and conducive," he said.

He added that in addition to the rapid response to every community report, they also carried out patrols to educate every parent to keep their children, especially teenagers, from engaging in glove wars because it is dangerous for themselves and others.

"Parents to increase supervision of their children, especially at night to prevent actions that can harm themselves and others," he said.
