Garut - The Garut Police and related agencies are checking the route as an initial step in preparing for the 2026 Lebaran homecoming in the main Garut Regency, West Java.

Head of the Garut Police Traffic Unit AKP Luky Martono said all the results of checks on national and provincial roads in the Garut area would be studied for the preparation of the 2026 Ketupat Operation.

"We from the police together with the Transportation Service, from the Ministry of Transportation, then the Health Office, Jasaraharja checked the route for the readiness of Operation Ketupat 2026," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 26.

He said that the Garut area has two lanes that will be crowded with vehicles, namely the Kadungora-Garut cross provincial road, and the Limbangan-Tasikmalaya cross national road.

Officers in the field, he said, checked by going through a number of locations that were prone to interference with vehicle speed, and also checked the condition of the road to ensure that all vehicles were suitable for crossing.

The results of the check, he said, such as the prone area of congestion, namely on the national road in the Limbangan area, will be prepared for road restrictions and two crossing points.

"We are channeling in two lanes with a 'water barrier' to avoid 'crossing', whether it's in the market or vehicles, later we will make two crossing gathering points," he said.

Regarding the results of checking the road conditions, he said, there were several potholes which were then recorded and reported material to be repaired immediately by the relevant agencies.

The Ministry of PUPR, he said, ensured that the repair of national roads would be completed 10 days before Lebaran, or would be ready to be crossed by vehicles during the Lebaran homecoming season.

"So H-10 is all done, both on the national and provincial routes," he said.
