Commission III of the DPR will call the North Lombok-Kajari Mataram Police Chief regarding the Unram Student Murder Case

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR will summon the North Lombok Police Chief and the Mataram District Attorney's Office regarding the murder of Mataram University (Unram) student Ni Made Vaniradya Puspa Nitra on Nipah Beach. Where, the victim's friend, Radiet Ardiansyah, is a defendant in the murder case.

This summons is the conclusion of the DPR Commission III RDPU together with the Radit family and his lawyer at the building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 26. Radiet's mother, Makkiyati, asked the DPR Commission III to help her son. He believes that his son is not the perpetrator of the murder.

"Commission III of the DPR RI will call the North Lombok Police Chief and the Head of the Mataram District Attorney's Office for Case No. 12/Pid.B/2026/PN Mtr to provide the clearest explanation regarding the case being handled," said the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman as the leader of the meeting.

The case began on August 26, 2025, when Makkiyati tried to call Radiet but the call was not connected until he later received news that his son had been kidnapped. However, on September 19, 2025, Radit was actually picked up by the police and named a murder suspect.

"But that night, on the 19th night of September, Mr. Kanit came with his colleagues and brought my child and said my child would be protected, he said. Why is my child being protected? Why did my child have to be taken? I said. 'Yes, I want to take it to KLU, Bu,' he said. Finally I said if that's the case, my child is protected, sir, I want to go, that's it, I have to accompany my child. After the trip to KLU, sir, my child was told, 'Radit, admit you've been with your mamak,' he said. My child was asked to confess, sir, if my child had committed murder, sir. But I told my child, 'He didn't say anything, Nak, you're right you did that?' I said. My child, 'It's not true, Mom, I swear to God, Mom,' he said. 'I dare to swear in the name of God,' he said, 'now my life is taken away by God if I do it,' he said Radit, sir", he continued.

"He said he secured my child from his family, Vira said, but my child was made a suspect. Esokan the day, sir, my child and I were told to hide so that I would not see my child who was handcuffed and wearing an orange shirt, sir," he added.

Makkiyati said that Radit was a obedient child so he could not have committed the murder of Vira. He wondered, the police did not try to make a sketch of the victim's killer even though his characteristics had been conveyed. Therefore, Makkiyati asked for justice from Commission III of the DPR.

"Radit has conveyed the characteristics of the perpetrators, sir, why did they not try to sketch his face? Even my son was accused of being a suspect. I beg you once, sir, I am a person who has nothing, sir, I beg you, sir, my son is not the perpetrator, sir. To this day, my heart says Radit is not the perpetrator, sir," said Makkiyati.

Meanwhile, Hotman Paris Hutapea's lawyer said that the murder of the Unram student could not be accepted by legal reasoning. This is because when he was found, Radit was also battered like he had been beaten. So it can be determined that there is someone other than Radit and the victim.

"The story is like this, my son's mother is dating a college friend. Then they come, meet on the beach in Lombok yes, and it's a pretty crowded area. There are big hotels there. Then, about a day, this woman, her boyfriend, did not come back. Finally, it was found by her family. Finally, about 3-4 days later, the body of this woman's boyfriend was found on the beach. Meanwhile, it was found 100 meters away, the body of the mother's son, who is now the defendant, in a bonyok state, all wounded," said Hotman.

"A few months later, he was suddenly accused of being the killer, so the question is, if he is the killer of this woman, why is he still there unconscious? His face is all bony. Yes, and that's what happened, and there was not a single witness who saw the incident," he continued.

Hotman said, Radit admitted to his mother that there was another person as the perpetrator. He also revealed the characteristics of the head of the authorities.

"The body of the mother's child was found on the beach, yes, and the body of her boyfriend was found about 100 meters away. The question is, who persecuted this? Who persecuted? That means there are other perpetrators. And if he persecuted his girlfriend, what was he doing there? Why didn't he run away? And to this day, there are no witnesses at all," he said.

Therefore, Hotman Paris asked Commission III of the DPR to provide legal protection for Radit and his family so that this case could be investigated transparently until the original perpetrator was found.

"So what we are asking for legal protection is, in terms of proof, there is not a single person who saw, there is no witness of the fact that the child of this mother is the perpetrator, there is none. Only the testimony of experts and psychologists. So according to our president's words, beyond reasonable doubt it is really far from that," he said.

"Second, if his son is a perpetrator in a bonyok state, even when he was found wrapped up, he was taken to the health center in this state. And his girlfriend's body was about 100 meters away. If he is the perpetrator, of course he has run away. But when he was found, he was unconscious like this, wrapped up to the health center. So, and who hurt this? Yes, there must be a third party. And it's impossible to accuse that it seems like this is a resistance from the victim, because they have a harmonious relationship and it's impossible for a dead woman to persecute like this, and also from the crime scene he was found to be still at the crime scene unconscious and injured everywhere," explained Hotman.

"So we ask, we ask that Commission III please call the JPU and the investigators. What is the law of proof used? It is clear that there are no two pieces of evidence to see the incident, absolutely no. Yes, it was found in a state of fainting and his girlfriend was 100 meters away.
