North Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara, have secured a citizen of Kazakhstan with the initials SS (29) who is on the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) wanted list.

Head of the North Lombok Police, Deputy Commissioner General of Police Agus Purwanta, explained that SS was a subject of an Interpol Red Notice for alleged murder in his home country.

"So, this security is carried out as a follow-up to the Interpol Red Notice and the document of the decision of the City Court of Atyrau, Kazakhstan, dated January 8, 2026," he said in a statement received in Mataram, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that SS was secured at a lodging house in Senaru Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, on Tuesday (24/2).

The action was taken after the police received official information regarding the whereabouts of the person in question in the North Lombok Police area.

"This security is a response to official information and coordination with the Hubinter Division of the National Police regarding the presence of the Red Notice subject in our area. All processes are carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures," he said.

Head of the North Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Inspector of Police One I Komang Wilandra, added that this security was the result of a series of closed investigations after receiving information regarding the whereabouts of SS in Senaru Village.

In addition to SS, officers also secured a woman who was also a citizen of Kazakhstan with the initials MA (30) from the same location. The legal status of MA is still being investigated by investigators.
