JAKARTA - The blog page of former US President Donald Trump has been permanently shut down, less than a month since its launch due to bans imposed on Trump by several social media.

The blog was launched on the advice of his personal advisory team, to launch a new social media platform, in line with the ban on Donald Trump's cyber activity by several well-known social media.

Jason Miller, a senior aide to Donald Trump, told CNBC the page was "not coming back". Miller has also confirmed that the blog page has been removed.

"That page has been removed. It's just an addition to the wider effort we have and work on," Miller said.

Those who try to visit the page now, will be greeted with a web form asking for their contact information to receive updates via email or text message.

It is known that Fox News was the first to report that Trump had started the blog, calling it a 'new communication platform'.

But late last month, Trump denied Fox's framing in a statement.

"This is meant to be a temporary way to get my thoughts and ideas out to the public without spinning fake news, but this website is not a platform," Trump said at the time.

The blog, dubbed the 'From Donald J. Trump's Desk' feature, was launched May 4 on Trump's personal website, months after the former president was banned from Facebook and Twitter.

At the time, the page was billed as a platform where Trump could speak directly to his supporters.

Previously, as reported by CNBC, Facebook and Twitter banned Trump from making uploads on their platforms, after the riots on Capitol Hill, Washington DC ahead of the approval of the results of the United States Presidential Election on January 6.

Trump, who has never given up on President Joe Biden, repeatedly and falsely claimed on social media after the November 3 election that competition had been stolen from him by widespread fraud.

Nevertheless, Trump and his allies have long accused the social media giant of being tainted by political bias and inclined to censor conservatives.
