JAKARTA - Hafiz Mahendra, was arrested after crashing into a number of vehicles for going against the direction on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at around 17.20 WIB.

Kompol Arry said there were no injuries or deaths in the incident. However, the car driven by the perpetrator suffered damage in the back, broken glass, dents on the front body and others.

"Before the accident occurred, the driver of the car with the license plate D 1640 AHB with the initials HM. The car was traveling from north to south on Jalan Gunung Sahari," he said.

Arriving near the Halte Lapangan Banteng, continued the Head of Police, when it was about to be stopped by the police officer, the vehicle continued to go and continued to go south.

"When they arrived in front of Jalan Gunung Sahari IV, the vehicle turned left into Jalan Gunung Sahari IV and drove to Jalan Bungur Besar Raya," he said.

The car driven by the perpetrator also turned left on Jalan Bungur, when it arrived at Jalan Gunung Sahari V, the car driven by the perpetrator then turned left against the direction.

"Right at the four-way traffic light of MBAL, it turns out that the car is still driving on Jalan DR Sutomo towards the East. When it arrived near the Bintang Baru Hotel, the vehicle turned west to return to the MBAL TL Junction. Then the car turned left onto Gunung Sahari road towards the North until the Pintu Besi area four-way junction," he said.

The car turned around against the flow. Right on the South direction of Gunung Sahari road until it stopped near the Golden Truly Busway Stop, the perpetrator's car was actually the target of the mass attack.

"The cause of the accident is still in the process of investigation. The evidence seized by the Laka Unit is a Calya car with the number D 1640 AHB belonging to the perpetrator," said the Head of Police.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator is still being questioned regarding the incident. The police are still looking for other witnesses to complete the report.

Previously reported, a black-colored LCGC Toyota Calya car with the number B 1640 AHB crashed into a number of motorcycles and cars on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, February 25, afternoon.

In addition to hitting a number of motorcyclists, the driver of the Toyota Calya also hit a traffic patrol car of the Central Jakarta Metro Police who was conducting a pursuit.
