Central Java Police Arrests Motorcycle Bodong Selling Syndicate, 87 Units Seized

SEMARANG - The Central Java Regional Police has dismantled a syndicate of motorcycle sellers without official documents from the province who are housed in a warehouse in Bandung City, West Java.

Director of Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Nasir Anwar, said that as many as 87 units of motorcycles without documents that were still in new condition were secured from a storage warehouse in Bandung City.

Police arrested two perpetrators who acted as seekers and buyers of motorcycles sold without documents.

The two suspects, with initials S, residents of Batang Regency and R, residents of Pekalongan Regency, were arrested after being traced from one of the cargo delivery companies in Pekalongan City.

The suspect R, continued Nasir, knew AM who is the owner of a storage warehouse in Bandung since 2024.

"The two suspects always send motorcycles without documents from one of the expedition companies in Pekalongan City with the destination Bandung," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 25.

In the delivery, the two perpetrators only equipped the motorcycle that was sent with a road permit from the dealer.

Nasir said the two perpetrators had sent about 150 units of motorcycles obtained from various regions in Central Java to Bandung.

"After paying installments for several months, the motorcycles were bought by the two suspects to be sent to Bandung," he said.

He said the police were still investigating the purpose of selling motorcycles that were still wrapped in plastic when they were secured inside the shelter warehouse.

In addition, the police are still hunting for AM who is the mastermind of the crime as well as the owner of the warehouse.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 591 or 591 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
