Wednesday afternoon Prabowo held a bilateral meeting with the King of Jordan at the Al Husseiniya Palace.

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the King of the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, at the Al Husseiniya Palace, Amman, Jordan, Wednesday, February 25 afternoon.

The bilateral meeting with the King of Jordan today will be the main agenda in the series of President Prabowo's visit to Amman on February 24-25, 2026. The meeting will also be the second time for President Prabowo after his first state visit to Amman, Jordan, in mid-April 2025.

During the meeting, President Prabowo will be greeted with a ceremonial honor from the Jordanian Armed Forces, then the two heads of state will continue to hold a one-on-one meeting, then the two will lead a bilateral meeting between the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the delegation of the Government of the Kingdom of Jordan.

In the series of state events at the Al Husseiniya Palace, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, Special Assistant to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Communication and Policy Analysis Dirgayuza Setiawan, and Special Assistant to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Strategic Data Analysis Agung Gumilar Saputra. Then, there was also the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah Ade Padmo Sarwono.

Foreign Minister Sugiono, Secretary of the Cabinet Teddy, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil, and two special assistants to the President of the Republic of Indonesia have accompanied President Prabowo in his series of visits to Washington DC, United States and London, England since last week.

In several bilateral meetings between President Prabowo and the King of Jordan, namely the first held in Amman on April 14-15, 2025, then the second meeting in Jakarta on November 14-15, 2025, the two heads of state have agreed on a number of cooperation, including in the defense sector, agriculture, education, wakaf and religion, higher education, science, and technology, then health.

In a meeting in Jakarta last year, the King of Jordan invited Indonesia to invest in three strategic sectors, namely gas pipanization, toll roads, and logistics.

For today's meeting, President Prabowo and the King of Jordan are likely to follow up on several discussions on bilateral cooperation in strategic fields, and discuss several issues related to global geopolitical dynamics, especially regarding the stages of recovery in Gaza, Palestine, given that Indonesia and Jordan are currently both members of the Gaza Peace Council (Board of Peace/BoP).

The two countries, along with other countries with a Muslim majority population such as the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt, are members of the Board of Peace, whose objectives include achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, creating peace, and supporting the independence of the Palestinian people.

Jordan and Indonesia, since 2025, have collaborated to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza, especially during the time of the blockade imposed by the Israeli Zionist military at the land crossings. Jordan is one of the countries that borders directly with Palestine, precisely in the West Bank, and also borders Israel.
