Commission IX of the DPR asks for THR to be given H-14 Lebaran to boost the economy

Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives, Edy Wuryanto, asked that the policy of providing holiday allowances (THR) be advanced to H-14 before Lebaran. Because, according to him, if the payment of THR is made on H-7 Lebaran, it is feared that it will hinder the government's initiative to boost the economy through the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.

This was conveyed by Edy in response to the Government's appeal for private companies to implement the WFA policy before and after the 2026 Eid al-Fitr, namely on March 16-17 and March 25-27, 2026 to launch the homecoming and return flow as well as boost the economy.

"Early payment of THR gives law enforcement time if there is a violation," Edy told reporters, Tuesday, February 24.

Eddy said, learning from the provision of THR in previous years, there are still employers who are dishonest. Finally, he said, disputes about THR are worked on after Eid al-Fitr, plus this Lebaran there are many holidays together.

"The Manpower Supervisory Officers in the region are on vacation and they don't have time if there are reports," he said.

In addition, according to Edy, the payment of H-14 provides an opportunity for workers to prepare for the holiday needs better. Given the tendency for price increases or inflation before Lebaran, workers can buy basic necessities early to avoid price spikes.

"THR is not a new policy. This is a policy that has been running for a long time and every company has budgeted for it. The sooner it is paid, the better it is for workers and economic circulation," he explained.

Therefore, the PDIP legislator from the Central Java III District encouraged the Ministry of Manpower to revise the Minister of Manpower Decree Number 6 of 2016 which stipulates the maximum THR payment H-7 Lebaran.

"Don't H-7 but H-14 before Eid al-Fitr," said Edy.
