JAKARTA - The government acknowledges that getting out of poverty is not necessarily safe. Head of the Poverty Eradication Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin) Budiman Sudjatmiko said President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that residents who have been strengthened can fall back into poverty if supporters such as cooperatives and fishing villages are left weak.

"People who have been settled can fall back into poverty if institutions such as cooperatives and fishing villages are not strengthened," said Budiman at the Presidential Palace complex, Thursday, February 12.

Budiman said BP Taskin asked that the President's strategic programs not run on their own. He gave an example of free nutritious meals, fishing villages, housing programs, and other programs that need to be connected so that "they talk to each other" as one ecosystem.

He admitted that he agreed with the President's emphasis on institutional strengthening. But BP Taskin also encouraged the next demand, namely that fishing villages and cooperatives must be financially strong, productive, and the results are felt by members.

Budiman said the meeting was limited in time. Only two parties directly delivered, namely the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and BP Taskin. The President, he said, received a report and would give further instructions.
