Family of Student Victim of Road Accident in Matraman Still Waiting for Certainty of Chronology

JAKARTA - The family of the student who died in a road accident on Jalan Matraman Raya, East Jakarta, is still in mourning. A number of relatives and educational institutions have visited the victim's house to express their condolences. The victim's uncle said that his family is still waiting for confirmation from the police regarding the actual chronology.

"So, we don't know the chronology, we don't know that the one who was lying was my nephew," said the victim's uncle, Cecep, to reporters at the funeral home in the Manggarai area, Tebet, South Jakarta, Monday.

He said his party only received information that his nephew had an accident while driving on the highway.

At that time, the victim, who was still sitting in the 2nd grade of high school, was known to drive himself to school.

Cecep also admitted that he only knew that his nephew crossed the hole in the road, then fell down. Then, the victim was taken to the police for further handling.

"The chronology was heard, it was hit by a hole, fell, that's it. He was lying down," said Cecep.

Until now, a number of guests have come to pay their last respects at the funeral home, including from the DKI Jakarta Education Office, the victim's school and the police.

Previously, a student died after being involved in a traffic accident on Jalan Matraman Raya, East Jakarta, on Monday morning, which was allegedly due to damaged roads.

The tragic incident occurred at around 06.00 WIB, when traffic flow was still relatively quiet.

Meanwhile, the victim is known to still be a student, and is suspected of being on his way to school when the accident occurred.

The ambulance belonging to the DKI Jakarta Health Service is seen parked in the middle of the road where the incident occurred. Traffic flow on Jalan Matraman Raya was also congested when officers evacuated the victims.
