Commission I of the DPR Responds to the President's Steps to Gather the TNI-Polri Leadership: Evaluation is Very Important

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Oleh Soleh, responded to President Prabowo Subianto's move to gather the leadership of the TNI-Polri at the State Palace, today. According to him, the meeting became a momentum to evaluate the government's performance in the field of defense and security.

Soleh also assessed that the meeting was also a strategic and constitutional step in order to strengthen coordination in the field of defense and security. According to him, the president as the supreme commander has the authority and responsibility to provide direct guidance to the TNI and Polri.

"In the meeting, the President can certainly provide important directions to the TNI and Polri regarding tasks in the field of defense and security. The President's instructions are very important so that all levels can carry out their duties properly, correctly, and in accordance with laws and regulations," said Oleh Soleh to reporters, Monday, February 9.

In addition to giving directions, the PKB politician also assessed that President Prabowo could evaluate the performance of the TNI and Polri. By Soleh emphasized that evaluation is an important part of strengthening state institutions.

"Evaluation is very important to be carried out so that various shortcomings and weaknesses that still exist can be immediately improved. We must admit, so far there are still a number of issues in the field of defense and security that need serious and sustainable improvement," he said.

The legislator from the West Java District XI hopes that through this meeting, the solidity and professionalism of the TNI and Polri will increase. He also encourages the two institutions to continue to maintain public integrity and trust.

"We hope that the TNI and the National Police can work better, become more professional, and consistently maintain national defense and security stability," he concluded.
