Bursting Of Mud Smell Appears In Cipanas Village, Cirebon

BPBD Cirebon Regency, West Java, checks the condition of the pungent-smelling mudflow that residents of Cipanas Village have complained about (ANTARA)

CIREBON - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cirebon Regency, West Java, checked the condition of the pungent-smelling mudflow that residents complained about.

"We are following up on reports from residents regarding a mudflow in Cipanas Village, Cirebon Regency, by directly checking the location," said Cirebon Regency BPBD Chief Executive Alex Suheriyawan in Cirebon, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 1.

Based on information from local residents, the mudflow emitted a strong odor. It was a relatively long time ago.

Alex explained that initially the mudflow was small, after being closed, it moved to another location which was not far from the initial burst.

"The burst was small at first, but after moving it became quite large," he said.

Currently, the Cirebon Regency BPBD has just checked the location of the eruption. After that, will coordinate with related parties for handling.

BPBD appealed to the surrounding community not to approach the location of the burst, because it is not yet known whether it is safe or not.

"We will coordinate with related parties to find out whether this eruption is dangerous or not," said Alex.
