IPS Survey Institute Names 3 'Bang Jago' Figures In 2024: Prabowo, Ganjar, Anies

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Presidential Studies (IPS) survey institute said there are three strong figures or figures who will enliven the contention of the 2024 presidential election. One of them is Anies Baswedan.

IPS Research Director, Arman Salam said the three champions who always appeared at the top of the survey conducted by IPS twice were Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

"If we look at the two surveys, there are three winners. If I say that, they are great. So the three winners are indicated to always compete fiercely at the top of the survey. Prabowo, Anies, and Ganjar," he said in a virtual discussion, Tuesday, June 1 .

However, Arman did not mention what percentage these three figures got based on the IPS survey. Even so, Arman emphasized that the three names were still fighting closely based on a survey conducted by IPS.

"I don't think it's Anies who is talking about the highest. They alternate with each other. There are Prabowo, Anies, and Ganjar. In the second survey there was a slight decline in Prabowo. But these three figures are in tight competition," he explained.

Arman said that the two figures, Anies and Ganjar, did not rise to extremes. According to him, the results are still not final.

According to him, support in both the regional and presidential elections is influenced by a number of things. The first is the level of recognition of the figure or candidate. Second, is the level of preference.

"How can this figure be liked by the public. Of course, candidates can do various social treatments, whatever their form, which can have a positive impact on the level of liking," he said.

Third, the level of appropriateness or public acceptance of the proposed candidate, through his electability.

"What I want to say is that the key is now how the candidates work hard, compete to do political work. Then form effective teams, also use political means or strategies that are also effective and efficient. "In the end, this electability will be successful," he explained.
