JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to strengthen the 2026 Lebaran transportation strategy through the strengthening of intermodal integration to maintain the smoothness of community mobility during the increase in mobilization on the Lebaran Idulfitri 2026 holiday homecoming.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said it was important for trains as mass transportation to be directly connected to various advanced modes, so that people's journeys could take place more efficiently, comfortably, and more evenly distributed.
"Strengthening intermodal integration is an important part of managing national travel flows during the Lebaran holiday, which is marked by increased movement of people across regions," said Anne as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 7.
He said that railway connectivity with advanced modes such as urban trains, bus services, and advanced transportation in urban areas supports end-to-end travel for customers from the point of departure to the final destination.
In the Jabodetabek area, said Anne, KAI provides easy access through stations that are directly integrated with Commuter Line KRL services, so that people do not always have to start their journey from the main station in the city center.
Stations such as Bekasi Station, Cikarang Station, and Jatinegara Station allow commuters to travel long distances by train by first using the KRL from the buffer area.
"This scheme helps reduce congestion at central stations while expanding the choice of departure points," he said.
Meanwhile, Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station continue to serve as the main nodes of long-distance trains that are integrated with TransJakarta services, continued transportation, as well as taxi and rental vehicle access.
"This integration makes it easier for passengers to continue their journey to various areas in Jakarta and its surroundings without significant obstacles," he said.
In the central corridor, intermodal integration is also strengthened through the connection of Manggarai Station, BNI City Station, and Dukuh Atas area as a multi-modal hub.
The area connects KRL services, airport trains, Jabodebek LRT, TransJakarta, and other advanced modes, so that passenger movement between services can take place more efficiently and structured.
Similar integration is also strengthened in various other areas in Java Island. In Bandung, the main stations are connected to urban transportation and road transportation to the Bandung Raya area.
In Yogyakarta, long-distance and local train connectivity is integrated with the Yogyakarta-Solo KRL service and urban transportation. Meanwhile, in Surabaya, intermodal integration supports passenger movement to and from the Gerbangkertosusila area.
"Through the strengthening of integration at various nodes, KAI encourages more efficient end-to-end travel while supporting the equalization of passenger flows during the Lebaran holiday period," he said.
In line with this strategy, KAI encourages the public to take advantage of travel opportunities on the early dates of the Lebaran Transportation period.
"This step is expected to help equalize passenger flows while providing a more comfortable travel experience for customers," said Anne.
He said that as of February 6, 2026 at 10.00 WIB, the total booking of regular train tickets for the period of March 11-23, 2026 has reached 568,307 tickets. The concentration of bookings is still on dates approaching the holiday, while on the early dates the availability of tickets is still open.
Booking data shows that on March 11, 2026, only 13,049 tickets were sold, 12 March 2026 as many as 29,576 tickets, and 16 March 2026 as many as 34,766 tickets.
The figure is still below the booking level on March 18, 2026 which reached 59,773 tickets and March 19, 2026 as many as 62,095 tickets.
Anne added that the integration of the station with the continuation mode provides greater flexibility for the public in planning the Lebaran journey.
