JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto called Pancasila a philosophy to prevent Indonesia from horizontal conflicts such as ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup (SARA).

Considering that horizontal conflicts still occur in various countries, such as inter-religious conflicts in Ireland, Sunni and Shia conflicts in the Middle East, and ethnic and linguistic conflicts in India.

"Indonesia has no problems. Why? The basic philosophical values extracted from Indonesia are finally able to formulate the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika," said Hasto at the National Seminar to Commemorate the Birth of Pancasila at the Defense University Auditorium, Tuesday, June 1.

According to Hasto, Pancasila was excavated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno from the civilization of the archipelago to the world. He said Sukarno himself did not want to be called the creator of Pancasila.

"Bung Karno doesn't want to be called the creator of Pancasila, he diggers Pancasila. Pancasila is extracted from all civilizations of the archipelago, all world civilizations, including religious diversity. That's where Pancasila is a crystallization of Indonesia's perspective on the world and at the same time its basic philosophy," he explained. .

Soekarno, said Hasto, emphasized the issue of the divine principle. This is stated in the first Precept. For this reason, the state guarantees that every child of the nation can practice their respective beliefs and religions.

"The principle of divinity that Bung Karno meant was a divinity with culture, noble character, no religious egoism. God with the spirit of gotong royong where all religious people and all sects of belief work together for our Greater Indonesia. That is the philosophical meaning of Godhead The Almighty," said Hasto.

Pancasila also contains the principles of humanity. This can be seen from the history of Budi Utomo's struggle. Budi Utomo, according to Hasto, changed the way of thinking of kingdoms that were prone to being pitted against the politics of divide at empire.

"Budi Utomo inspired the birth of the Youth Pledge on October 28, 1928 where we affirmed that we are one nation. One who upholds unity," he said.
