LUMAJANG - The police investigated the stray bullet that injured a student of the Lumajang State Tsanawiyah Madrasah (MTsN) 1 with the initials NS during recess in the local madrasah environment, Wednesday, February 4.
The teenager from Krajan II Hamlet, Lempeni Village, Tempeh District, Lumajang Regency, was shot in the left thigh and is currently undergoing intensive care at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr. Haryoto Lumajang.

"At that time, the victim suddenly heard a gunshot-like explosion from an unknown direction. Not long after, the victim felt a great pain in the left thigh and bled," he said.
He said the injured victim was immediately evacuated by the madrasah and taken to the Dr. Haryoto Lumajang Hospital for medical treatment.
"Initial examination results showed that there were projectiles still embedded in the victim's thigh. When we arrived at the Emergency Room (IGD), it was true that there was a wound allegedly caused by a gunshot in the victim's left thigh. The plan is for the victim to undergo surgery to remove the projectile," he said.
Until now, the Lumajang Police are still investigating to uncover the origin of the stray bullet, including the type of weapon used.
"We are still investigating the case to find out where the bullets and the type of weapon came from. We are still collecting information and conducting an investigation at the madrasah," he said.
