JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route will be inaugurated next week. As for the details of this route, it will be further conveyed.

Pramono emphasized that the development of public transportation is still the focus of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in 2026, in line with efforts to strengthen the city's foundation and reduce the use of private vehicles.

"Next week I will open a new route from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta. It will be directly from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta. Well, the details of the route will be conveyed by the Transportation Office," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 3.

Pramono believes that this route will be crowded with passengers and can mimic the occupancy rate of other Transjabodetabek routes, such as Blok M-Bogor, which he said is almost always full.

"I believe, I hope this is like the Blok M route to Bogor. Now almost every day the bus is full. This means it will be effective in trying to reduce people using private transportation such as cars and the like," said Pramono.

Currently, a number of Transjabodetabek routes are operating, including Alam Sutera-Block M, PIK2-Block M, Bogor-Block M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, Vida Bekasi-Cawang, and Bekasi-Dukuh Atas.

Pramono assessed that this route would be in demand by many people because it facilitates continued mobility to various public transportation modes within the city.

"It must be faster because it has a special lane. So, this will make it easier for anyone who will leave or return, who uses aircraft transportation, to go to Blok M, from Blok M you can go anywhere. Whether it's MRT, TransJakarta, and so on," said Pramono.

On the one hand, Pramono emphasized that the opening of the new route was not intended to replace or reduce existing airport transportation services, such as Damri buses, taxis, and Airport Trains (Railink).

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, he said, will still coordinate with transportation managers to ensure that services run in tandem.

Moreover, Pramono assessed that direct connections to and from the airport are a need that has not been fully answered, especially regarding the choice of people's mobility with cheaper costs.

"I believe this will be an option for people, anyone who has been using Damri or taxis (airport), now has the option to use Transjakarta which is relatively cheap, only 3,500," he said.
