Director of Safety Investigated by the KPK Today in Connection with Alleged Bribery of the Train Line Project

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Director of Safety and Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Jumardi as a witness today.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said this examination was related to the alleged bribery of the railway line construction project in the DJKA environment in East Java. Jumardi was examined because he had previously served as BTP Class I Surabaya until April 2021.

"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," Budi told reporters through his written statement, Monday, February 2.

Budi did not elaborate on the material investigated by investigators. He only said that Jumardi had fulfilled the call of the investigators at 10.03 WIB.

The case of bribery of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) DJKA started from a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) related to alleged corruption at the Central Java Class I Railway Engineering Office. This action was carried out on April 11, 2023.

From the silent operation, the KPK then named 10 suspects. Four parties are suspected of being bribes to the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung (IPA) Dion Renato Sugiarto (DIN); Director of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma, Muchamad Hikmat (MUH); Director of PT KA Property Management until February 2023 Yoseph Ibrahim (YOS); and VP of PT KA Property Management Parjono (PAR).

Meanwhile, the alleged recipients are the Director of Railway Infrastructure Harno Trimadi (HNO); Head of the Central Java Railway Engineering Office (BTP) Putu Sumarjaya; Commitment Maker Officer (PPK) BTP Central Java Bernard Hasibuan (BEN); PPK BPKA South Sulawesi Achmad Affandi (AFF); PPK Maintenance of Railway Infrastructure Fadliansyah (FAD); and PPK BTP West Java Syntho Pirjani Hutabarat (SYN).

In addition, there are also two suspects who were appointed on January 22, 2024. They are Yofi Okatrisza as an ASN at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and former auditor of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) Medi Yanto Sipahutar.

Then, the KPK appointed new suspects in this case. They are Eddy Kurniawan Winarto as a private party or company owner and Muhlis Hanggani Capah as a state civil servant (ASN) at the Railway Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia or the commitment maker (PPK) at the Medan Railway Engineering Office in 2021-May 2024.

Both are suspects in a project bribery case in the Medan area. The joint determination of the detention of the suspects was carried out on December 1.

This case targets a number of regions, including East Java.

Not stopping there, the KPK also named Sudewo as a suspect after being entangled in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) as the Regent of Pati.

Sudewo was named a suspect for receiving bribe money for a project while serving as a member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period.
