Istana: Prabowo Meets National Figures, Not the Opposition

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said that President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with a number of national figures was oriented towards the interests of the nation and state as well as the interests of the community.

"This is how the President has been communicating. There are open ones, there are closed ones in order to discuss, receive input, and at the same time provide explanations as well for programs that are being carried out by the government," said Prasetyo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 2.

He said the President's meeting with a number of figures was not with opposition figures, but national figures who had concerns in their respective fields.

"Not an opposition figure. But, he met with national figures who have concerns in their respective fields," said Prasetyo.

According to him, such communication is a positive thing in the administration.

Prasetyo said that the figures met by the President came from various backgrounds and were not from political party elements.

"There are no political party figures. Yesterday there was a figure of the nation Prof. Siti Zuhro, a figure of anti-corruption former KPK Chairman Mr. Abraham Samad, then a figure of the police former Kabareskrim Mr. Susno," he said.

He added that similar meetings would continue with other national figures.

"There are some who will continue with other figures," said Prasetyo.

Previously, President Prabowo met with a number of national figures, one of whom was former KPK Chairman Abraham Samad, which lasted for 5 hours at his private residence, Jalan Kertanegara IV, on Friday (30/1).

The news of the meeting was initially revealed by Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, who said the Head of State met with government opposition figures to discuss the interests of the country.
