2 Calo CPNS in Tegal Arrested, One of Them Ex-Police

TEGAL - Two CPNS middlemen named Bambang and Darto were arrested by the Tegal Police after being caught deceiving victims up to Rp. 300 million. Surprisingly, one suspect is still active as a civil servant (PNS), while the other is a former member of the National Police.

The two perpetrators are residents of Slawi District, Tegal Regency, Central Java Province. The modus operandi is to lure the victim into passing the CPNS selection. However, the sweet promise has not been realized even though the victim has been waiting for 1 year. Finally, the victim reported to the police.

Kasatreskrim of the Tegal Police, AKP Luis Beltran Krisnandhita Marissing, explained that Bambang was detained since December 2025. Meanwhile, Darto has not been detained due to his health condition and is currently only required to report three times a week.

"CPNS recruitment is official and transparent. The promise of graduation in exchange for money is pure fraud," said AKP Luis Beltran, Friday, January 30.

This fraud case began in 2022, when the victim with the initials HO was asked to pay a dowry of Rp. 300 million to pass the selection. However, until 2023, the perpetrator's promise never materialized.

The case file of the two suspects is complete alias P21 and is scheduled to be handed over to the Tegal District Attorney's Office on Thursday, January 29. Both perpetrators are charged with Article 372 and 378 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement and fraud with a maximum threat of 7 years in prison.

The Tegal Police urged the public to be careful and not be tempted by the sweet promises of CPNS brokers. The official recruitment channel for CPNS is free of illegal levies or misleading graduation promises.
