JAKARTA - The Belitung Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG), Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), has prepared a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) menu for students in the area in the form of snacks during the holy month of Ramadan 2026.
"During the month of Ramadan, the SPPG service will still distribute MBG for students at schools, but in the form of snacks," said the Regional Coordinator (Korwil) of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Belitung Enggit Clara in Tanjungpandan, Thursday.
He said that the choice of snacks was based on the MBG technical instructions, such as bread, milk, boiled eggs, boiled corn, and including fruits.
"The consideration is to choose a light menu so that fasting students can take home food and remain safe to eat until the time of breaking the fast," he said.
Although the menu for the month of Ramadan is different from the MBG menu every day before Ramadan, Enggit Clara believes that the menu meets nutritional needs.
In presenting MBG in the month of Ramadan with a snack menu, he said, it will be packaged in a tote bag to make it easier for children to take the food home.
"MBG in the month of Ramadan is packaged in a carry-on bag that is different from the MBG serving on ordinary days using ompreng," he said.
It is reported that there are already four SPPG kitchens in Belitung Regency that are operating and distributing. The four SPPG kitchens, said Enggit, are the SPPG Air Selumar kitchen, SPPG Perawas, SPPG Paal Satu street Gatot Subroto, and SPPG Air Saga on Pak Tahau street. "Each SPPG serves 2,000 students, so a total of 8,000 students are served," he said.
