Netanyahu's Promises Weak, Israeli Settlers Continue to Terrorize Palestinian Villages in the West Bank

JAKARTA - Israeli illegal settlers again carried out a terror attack by raiding the Pelstina village near Hebron, West Bank on Wednesday, January 28. The attack left a number of women and children injured.

The group of Israeli settlers burned property, broke windows, and damaged vehicles. They even blocked ambulances that wanted to handle the situation after reports of injured victims.

One of the injured victims, Samir Hamamda, told the official Wafa news agency quoted by Al Jazeera that he was beaten by settlers when a group of the mob stormed his house, pelted the house with stones and sprayed pepper into the house.

The terror caused Samir's wife and children to faint. There were also bruises and other injuries suffered by the victims.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society's search and rescue group said it had treated two patients from al-Fakhit village affected by the attack, including a young man with a head injury and a girl with a broken arm.

Other residents in the Masafer Yatta area were also injured, including women and children, when settlers smashed the windows of vehicles and houses.

In Khirbet al-Halawa, several Palestinians were injured by stone-throwing from settlers, who also stole 150 sheep from the area, Wafa reported.

Attacks by illegal Israeli settlers who openly occupy Palestinian territory are frequent and have never been seriously addressed by the government of Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu, who is of a right-wing political orientation, rarely responds when the terror occurs.

Last November 2025, Netanyahu only promised to take firm action against violence by illegal Israeli settlers against residents of villages around the West Bank. However, in reality, the action against the victims of Palestinians is only a promise.
