NTT Police Chief Orders Police To Snatch Suspected Girl Murderer In Kupang Threat Of Highest Sentence

KUPANG - East Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Lotharia Latif ordered investigators to snare multiple layers of criminal threats against the suspect in the murder of the girl YAW (19) from Noelmina Village, Kupang Regency.

"I have ordered the process with the application of multiple articles and the highest threat of punishment because the suspect's behavior is like that of a female killer and is very dangerous for the community," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 31.

This was conveyed in connection with the murder and rape cases carried out by a man with the initials YT (41) who had previously been threatened with the death penalty or life imprisonment.

For the Kapolda, the suspect has no sense of humanity because he killed a victim who resisted being raped.

The Kapolda appreciates his personnel, both the NTT Police and the Kupang Police, who quickly handled the case after an investigation was carried out.

"The disclosure of the case was due to the speed of members in processing the crime scene (TKP), examining witnesses, checking cellphones and tracking by the cyber team on the victim's and suspect's Facebook groups as well as the discovery of data on the suspect's digital footprint. This is a scientific investigation method ( scientific investigation)," he said.

The police chief during the crime scene processing on Saturday, May 29, had the opportunity to directly lead the investigation of the murder case that killed the 19-year-old girl.

Previously, the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate had named a suspect in the rape and murder of a girl in Kupang. The perpetrator with the initials YT (41), is threatened with the death penalty or life imprisonment.

"The suspect is threatened with the death penalty or life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years in prison," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Rishian Krisna B.

In addition to being threatened with the death penalty, the suspect is also suspected of being under Article 340 of the Criminal Code, sub-Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning the Crime of Murder intentionally and with premeditated killing of another person's soul.

The suspect is also known to have committed the murder of another girl in February 2021.

The suspect's actions only came to light after on May 17, the body of the second victim was found rotting in one of the lands belonging to a company in West Kupang, Kupang Regency.
