Police Find Marijuana While Capturing the Murderer of Her Mother Whose Body Was Burned

MATARAM - The police found evidence of marijuana from the arrest of the perpetrator with the initials BP who killed his biological mother with the initials YRA by burning and dumping her body on the side of the road in Batu Leong, West Lombok Regency.

"The evidence of suspected marijuana was found in a white box of chewing gum," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Mohammad Kholid, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 27.

He explained that the candy box containing suspected marijuana was found when the NTB Police Puma Team visited the perpetrator's house in the East Monjok area, Mataram City.

"Marijuana was found from the search of a black Innova car at the perpetrator's house," he said.

Regarding the perpetrator's act of killing his biological mother under the influence of marijuana, Kholid said his party had not been able to confirm this.

"Of course we are still investigating it. Later we will conduct further urine tests," said Kholid.

Although he could not confirm this, he confirmed that the criminal act of the perpetrator of killing his biological mother had been revealed.

The motive was related to the victim's hurt because he refused the request for Rp39 million to pay off debts.

The perpetrator is now a suspect and investigators have detained BP at the NTB Police Detention Center.

From the results of the examination, continued Kholid, the investigators of Subdit III Jatanras Reskrimum Polda NTB have named the perpetrator as a suspect and detained him. Investigators in this case apply Article 458 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code and/or Article 459 of the Criminal Code.

Article 458 paragraph (1) of this Criminal Code regulates that a person who intentionally takes the life of another person can be sentenced to a maximum of 16 years in prison.

"For paragraph 2, it regulates the criminal act of taking the life of a mother, father, husband, wife, or biological child, then it can be punished by adding one-third of the threat of punishment in paragraph 1," said Kholid.

Furthermore, for Article 459 of the Criminal Code concerning the criminal rule for premeditated murder.

"The threat of punishment can be sentenced to death, life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years in prison," he said.
